Dragsters and Antique Cars

Today was clear and sunny. The high for the day was around 76.

Around 1100 we headed 32 miles north on I-75 To Don Garlits' Museum of Drag Racing and Museum of Antique Cars.  We Spent  a couple of hours touring both museums. "Big Daddy" Don Garlits has been dubbed "King of The Dragsters" and could be consider the patriarch of Top Fuel Drag Racing.  His Swamp Rat XXX is in the Smithsonian Museum of American History.

Here are a few pictures from the Drag Racing Museum.  Click on any picture to enlarge.

We then walked next door to the Museum of Antique Cars.

We left the museums a little after 1400 and stopped at a near by Sonny's for lunch.   Next we headed another 15 miles up I-75 to Ocala and a Harbor Freight store.  We picked up some items need to permanently repair the umbilical cord to the toad.

We got home around 1700 and sat outside with BJ until around 1820.

That's it for today.

Catch ya later.

Thought For The Day – Some think my cynicism grows with age. I like to think of it as wisdom
