We're Back

Yesterday it rained on and off until a little after noon.  We went for lunch at the Crown Cub and then it was balls to the wall.  Beryl had stuff stacked up inside to put away and I started moving the stuff from the bays into the Journey.

Why are we carrying 8 chairs ??  I ran over and got a sandwich and a salad during happy hour and it was back at it again,  We finally called it quits around 2030.  Both of us were sore and stiff,  Hot showers were a little help.  We had about 97% of the stuff moved and put away.

Today was overcast with a high only only in the upper 60's.  By  lunch time we had just about everything moved and stored,  We headed to bob Evans for lunch but the line was really long.  Cracker barrel was even worse,  we ended up at Hardee's.  Nothing to brag about.  We talked to Tiffany and asked her to get the discharge paper work ready,  We left Lazy Days and got back to Sumter Oaks around 1630.  We had the propane tank filled and got parked.  I only hooked up the electric. The rest will get done tomorrow.

Beryl made grilled cheese sandwiches for supper.  First meal in the Journey.  Here are a couple of quick pictures of the inside.

Living room - passenger side

Dining area and kitchen - drivers side

Residential 20 cu ft refrigerator

BJ's King size bed

Dressers, Stacked washer/dryer behind doors.

I'll get better pictures when I dig out my other camera,  Tomorrow I'll hook up the water and sewer and then we'll chill until the New Years Eve party at 1900.  We'll also have to make a Winn Dixie run.

That's it for today.

Hurry up and Waitr

Today was overcast with a high around 70.  It started raining off and on around 1730.

We were up this morning around 0630.  This stuff has got to stop we;re retired.  They were coming around 0800 ti take the rig down to the bays to check out the AC/Heat Pumps.  We had breakfast at the Crown club and spent the morning outside at the old MH.  We stated our displeasure with the current situation to the salesman,  Delivery Advisor and anyone else who would listen.  Around 1130 we got a call from Tiffany, the DA, that  I was needed at the coach so they could activate the satellite system.  Some wiring was screwed up and it took the morning to straighten it out.  I had lunch at the Crown Club and then we went to Walmart.  This must be one of real old WMs.  It's like the old one on RT 11.

Tiffany stopped by to see us when we got back from WM.  She admitted they dropped the ball and the AC problem should of been noted and corrected.  They are having a similar problem with the $500K Tour MHs.  Also she checked all the Journeys on site and they have the same problem.  Also while in the bay the heat pump worked like it was supposed to.  Service reps are supposed to be in after the new year to resolve the problems,

We went to the Crown Club for happy hour and when we returned the Journey was back only now it was pouring down rain.

Nothing got moved today. It's supposed to rain until around noon tomorrow.

That's it for today.

Moving Day 2

Today was overcast with a high in the upper 60's.

We were up at 0700 because they were coming for the jeep a little after 0800.  We went to the Crown club for breakfast.  We got with the Delivery Advisor with more punch list items.  The heat pumps aren't working like they should.

The tech came mid morning to checkout the heat pumps and to hookup the satellite system.  We spent all day moving stuff from the inside of the MH.  We're about 90% complete.

When we were at lunch we got a call from Tiffany asking if we had lost our dog.  The door to the MH had been left open and BJ decided to tour the site.

Tomorrow the MH goes to the service bay to get the heat pumps checked out. Another early morning.  It looks like we'll be here to at least Saturday.

That's it for today.

BJ's Gift to US

Today started out in the low 60's and got up to the mid 70's.  Around noon we had a heavy downpour for about  a half hour.

BJ has been complaining that he didn't have enough room to sleep in the queen size bed when he was used to sprawling out in the king sized be at home.  He also complained that looking up at the TV in the front was hard on his neck.  He even threatened to call PETA.  Last Monday he cashed in some of his bones and sent us to Lazydays to look.  We ended up with a new Journey 34B.

We got everything unhooked and headed for Lazydays around 0900 and got there a little after 1000.  It took about an hour to complete the paper work and then we headed to the Crown Club for lunch.  The walk through took almost 2 hours.  We ran to Walmart for a few things and then back to the Crown Club for Happy Hour.

We started moving stuff from the bedroom and got that setup.  Tomorrow we will continue moving  stuff and they will set up the entertainment system, complete some punch list items and install the Air Force One brake controller on the Jeep.

Here are a couple of pictures of the outside.  I'll get some pictures of the inside once we get things squared away.

Christmas Diner

Today started out at 56 and got up to 75.  It was cloudy with no sun.

Around 1030 we headed to the AC to help decorate our table.  Jean was the table host and provided most of the decorations.  Here's our table:

Diner was at 1400.

We had ham, boiled potatoes, corn, broccoli, sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, and lime water pickles.  Desserts were SF lemon meringue pie and SF chocolate cake with Kahlua cherry and whipped cream topping.

Here are some of the other tables:

We spent the rest of the day stuffed.

That's it for today.

Christmas Eve Party

Today started out at 54 and got up to the upper 60's.  It was cloudy all day.

Tonite was the Christmas Eve Party.  The dish was Hobo Stew.

Wallace and Wanda are the park managers and plan all the activities.

Wanda

Wallace
For Hobo Stew all the participants took some type of food up to the AC, it was all put into kettles and and cooked.  They also made some turkey noodle soup.  Here are some pictures of the diners.

They had a bonfire and were making smores and whoopee pies.  Down here they call whoopee pies porcupine pies.

Those that brought gifts took a gift from the pile and formed two lines.  A Christmas story about Mr Right was read and you passed the gift right, left or across as that word was read. It took numerous tries to get through the story.

Tomorrow at 1400 is the Christmas meal.  There a 9 tables of 10 people signed up.  Table decoration is in the morning around 1030.

Don't forget to put out the milk and cookies.

Merry Christmas

Chilly couple of daysi

The last couple of days have been chilly.  Daytime temps in the mid 60's and morning lows around 34.  Temps are supposed to be back in the low 70's by Christmas.  lows will be in the mid 50's.

We haven't been doing too much. Thursday we attended the dine in.  Beryl helped prepare the cakes and then helped serve.  Friday was the cookie exchange.  Beryl came back with a sugar and caffeine high. Saturday I went up for the breakfast and we spent the day around the MH.

Today we went to Brooksville and Ruby Tuesdays for lunch.  Then it was back to Bushnell and Winn Dixie to pickup the SF lemon meringue pies for our table. It looks like there will be close to 100 people at the dinner.  The ice cream social was at 1600.

Tomorrow we have to take something to the AC by noon for the Hobo Stew.  1830 is the Christmas Eve Party with hobo stew, caroling and a bonfire.

That's it for today

A New Dew

The weather the last couple of days has been normal.  Highs in the upper 70's lows in the upper 50's and partly sunny.

Monday morning we were up and ready to head to Lazy Days around 1000.  Bennett stopped by and we talked until around noon.  He's been under the weather and this was the first day he really got out. It was good to see him up and around.  He and Bea are planning on heading to northern GA for the holidays.  After lunch we headed towards Tampa and Lazy Days.  It is about an hour to LD.  We got back to the park around 2000 and BJ was really glad to see us.  After his walk and feeding we headed up the road to Sonny's BBQ for supper.  Eating at 2100 didn't agree with either of us and we were both up on and off all night.  More about LD after the holidays.

Yesterday  was dine out at the campground.  30 of us headed to China Buffet for lunch.  Ted and Marilyn rode with us.  They are flying back to IL for Xmas but will be back on the 28th in time for the New Years Eve Party.

Around 1130 today we headed up to Bushnell and Howie's for lunch.  We stopped at the produce stand for tomatoes, cucumbers and cabbage.  Then on to Walmart.  We picked up Percy.

Beryl got a new dew.  The stylist was originally from IL

We picked up the pork and sauerkraut for New Years Day and a few other things.  Looks like we'll have to pass on the black eyed peas, slaw and cornbread.

Tomorrows dinner will be the dine in.  Pulled pork, corn, baked beans slaw and dessert.  Beryl is going to help serve.

That's about it for today.

Thought For The Day – On the Internet you can be anybody you want. So why do so many people chose to be stupid??

Live Nativity

Today was back to normal. Partly cloudy with a high in the upper 70's.

Misty's mom had told us that her Baptist Church was having a live Nativity Sat and Sunday evening.  Around 1900 we remembered it and headed to Bushnell to see it.  The Nativity has scenes from the birth of Christ through his Resurrection.  Most of the characters were children an it was free.  Here are some poor pictures of the event.  Remember clicking on a picture will enlarge it.

Today we left around 1100 for Brooksville and the Texas Roadhouse for lunch.  We both had 8oz sirloins and baked potatoes.  I had a salad and Beryl had apple sauce.  Afterwards, Beryl looked around BonWorth and I hit the Dollar Store.  We both ended up at Tuesday Morning where we found the scoop Beryl needed to make her cookies.

Back at the camper we chilled until it was time for the ice cream social at 1600.

This will be a busy week,  Monday we are going to take a run up to Lazy Days to look around. Tuesday a group from the campground is going to Buffet City for lunch. Thursday afternoon is the cookie exchange and Thursday evening is the weekly dinner.  Beryl has become an official server.

That's about it for today.

Wreaths Across America

The past three days have been chilly and dreary.  Highs in the low 60's and lows in the low 50's.  Today returned to normal once the clouds moved out.

This morning we were treated  to a steady stream of motorcycles for about a half an hour.  About 5 miles down the road is the Florida National Cemetery.  More than 7000 people showed up to place the 3 truckloads of wreaths on the graves.  The cemetery covers over 500 acres and has over 97,000 interments.  We were asked to go along to help but we stayed at the campground.

After all the ceremonies had been completed we headed over and took a couple of pictures.

Some areas had no wreaths

The Entrance and Exit Roads were about a 1/4 mile long and lined with flags

Christmas Carolers

The temperatures the past week have been in the upper 70's to low 80's.  Nighttime temps are in the lower 60's.  We have had rain the last three nights and more is scheduled for later today.  The next week is supposed to be rain free.

Most of the time this past week was spent chilling out.  On Tues we helped put lights on the office building.  We found a new little restaurant, Howie's. It is a smaller version of Morris's.   Sunday we went for Chinese and then later in the afternoon to the activities center(AC) for ice cream.  WE signed up for the Christmas dinner. There are 10 people at a table and each table acts as its own group.  The club is supplying ham and the table members bring a dish.  Beryl is bringing corn and we will get some SF pies at Winn Dixie.

Yesterday was the big day.  At 1000 we were serenaded by caroler in the AC.

The Carolers were Pre K kids from a local school.  After they were done singing a very special guest showed up.  Each one was called by name and received a gift.

They then were taken out into the audience for help opening the gifts.

Everyone there had a good time.

Tomorrow we are going to supper at the AC,  Meat Loaf mashed potatoes, green beans, corn salad and desert for $6.00.  Friday at 1900 there is a wine and cheese tasting. BYOW and a snack.

That's it for now.
