St Augustine Day 2

It was in the low 60’s this morning and breezy.  It stayed overcast and breezy all day and finally got to 70'.
We headed over to trolley stop 1 a little after 0930.  Our first tour was of the Old Jail.  Remember you can click on any picture to enlarge it.

This cage was used to humiliate prisoners.  They were placed in the cage and then it was raised off the ground.  They were left in the cage for at least 24 hours.

Our next stop was the St Augustine History Museum. The Museum is part of Gator Bob’s Trading Post. As you enter the museum, The first thing you see is the Tin Can Tourist exhibit.  By 1919 100,00 were members of this club and this is how some wintered in Florida.
