St Augustine – Final Day

Today started out cloudy, got clear and ended up partly cloudy.

Just for information, March 9-18, 2012 is Bike Week in Florida.  Everywhere you look there are bikes. Unfortunately I didn’t take any pictures.

We didn’t get started until a little after noon.  We headed south on A1A Beaches and stopped at the St Augustine Beach Visitors Center for information.  The girl there was totally useless. The beach in this area was closed and you had to pay to go out on the pier. The waves were 3. – 4’ high

We then travelled south about 35 miles to Flagler Beach.

We then travelled back to the north end of Anastasia island and the St Augustine Lighthouse.

By now it was 1500 and time for Lunch/Dinner.  We stopped at a Longhorn Steakhouse.  The service was poor and the food wasn’t much better.

Tomorrow we will head 165 miles up I-95 to the Savannah Oaks Rv Resort. We will then spend the next 2 or 3 days exploring Savannah, GA

Catch ya later
